This installation is an accumulation of Katie’s past work whilst studying at Manchester School of Art.
A tendency to re-work material is extended in bringing together her Fine Art research and writing, dissertation and previous art history essays.
Within the text is both an insight and investigation into her practice, and from it an artwork that exists as a presentation of ideas and part of a continued exploration of the boundaries of artworks. Here, the work is paradoxical as it is captures both a prior moment from which artworks emerge, whilst in itself being a direct communication of artistic ideas.
The form takes a singular mass hanging from the ceiling. I did however take photos of it in alternative forms, but this only because I wanted to capture it through images- I didn’t consider these as various, changing outcomes of thework making it different to a build
